Awesome Bright Eyes cover

I could take or leave most of the rest of this chick's music, but her rendition of First Day of My Life is great.

Oh, I'm taken. It's beautiful. It's one of my favorite Bright Eyes songs and she does an amazing job covering it. What an amazing voice. Somebody sign her quick.

She's on some (very ) independent label it seems: Julia Nunes Official Website - JuNu Music

Her original songs are okay, but what I'd really like is a Bright Eyes covers record. I'd snap that up in a second. She almost brings more feeling to First Day of My Life than Connor Oberst does, and if she applied her voice and fresh emotional take to some select tracks from his catalog I think it'd be a real gem.

It's amazing how she changes the whole dynamic of the song even though it's the same exact song. Her voice reminds me that of Colbi Caillat's (she's playing Ukulele, too) which I adore. I think it's their lower end voice which brings more depth and weight to the songs. If she releases an album with Bright Eyes covers, I'd be in for one as well, although I think she could do a lot more than a cover album.
