The D2 is one of the loudest players around and can drive ER-4S with 100 ohms impedance just fine. The bass rolloff is when the impedance is low and improves gradually.



ETYMOTIC ER4P TO ER4S RESISTOR ADAPTOR - eBay (item 290264713601 end time Oct-08-08 06:05:24 PDT) would fix the problem, but changing impedance of some phones can negatively affect the sound.

how loud it goes isn't a ussue for me since i usally listen at low volumes it's about SQ,

From the graph you can see that at least 80ohms resistance is required to get rid of almost all of the bass rolloff whether that impedance is in the phones or an adapter. You could go a little under that, but the 16 ohm rolloff looks horrifying.
