Hi all, my first post

I don't know if this belongs here, but

does anyone know where I can get the sony V6 or grado sr-60, or senn 280 in vancouver, canada? and their prices?

I don't know about Vancouver, but I saw a pair of MDR-7506's (which are identcal to the V6) at Long and McQuade for $199. I'm not sure if you can find them for cheaper. Seeing that you can buy the MDR-V6 from the US for like, $60-70 USD... even with taxes/duties/shipping, it'll still come out cheaper than buying 7506's locally, I think.

You can get the Grados at Sound Hounds in Victoria on Pandora Street (i think that's what street they're on); that's where I got my SR80's....as for Vancouver, I quite honestly have no idea....

I'm pretty sure you can get the 7506's at Long & McQuade for $199, like fiddler said...Sony doesn't distribute the V6's in Canada.

it's hard to find stuff in Vancouver....here's a boatload:

Long & McQuade: Senn HD280; AKG Studio series, K 301; Audio Technica pro series.

Tom Lee [preferably Granville and Helmcken Street]: Sony 750x; AKG pro series; Senn HD 280; bunch of DJ phones [ie. Technics, Stanton]

Hi-Fi Centre [Seymour St, near A&B sound]: Grados; Senn HD 600.

Signature Audio [Cambie and West 14th]: Grado SR 60, 80;

A&B Sound: Koss PortaPro, SportaPro; Senn HD 590, PMX 60.

Radioshack: Senn MX400;

Commercial Electronics [Burrard and Burnaby Street]: AKG K301, K 401;almost all beyerdynamics [DT 231 for $150]; Ultrasone HFI650, HFI6000; Senn HD 25-1, HD 570, HD 590, HD 600.

as for prices, the 7506's cost about C$200.....HD 280s cost about C$160-180...and the Grado SR60's cost about C$135-140, i think...

as for other phones...the AKG K271S is about C$300..the Senn HD 590 is about $300 as well, while the the HD 600 is about C$600...and Grado SR80's are about C$170-200

..there don't seem to be any places that sell cheap senn's like the PX200 and the HD 497...wonder where those are...hopefully my list is incomplete..

so that's all I found..hope this helps....

shouldn't you be asking where in Portland?

go over the border, young man.

find a price, go back into canada, convert some currency, then go over the border again.

just to let ppl know, I bought my sony 7506's at Tom Lee music, $180CDN, $20 less than long and mcquade.

I also bought my grado sr60's locally, i think around $110-120CDN, at soundplus. I think its a high end audio store on broadway?

best bet is to use the good ol phone book and look under musical instruments, stereos, and sound. Thats how i do it at least...

still cant find a place locally that will sell or audition senn px200's though...
