Help! LOD vs mini-mini?

hi there, i am in search of a IC for my zen vision M to a penguin amp im gonna order soon. i WAS thinking about this mini-mini

but then i stumbled upon meier's line of IC's

Meier-Audio

hes the only person ive seen so far who sells a LOD for zens. but, the site is very vague on the products. no details.

1. does anyone know how long the MINI-MINI and the qables zen - mini are?

2. is there a difference whether or not i get the LOD or mini-mini? as in sound quality wise?

3. anyone buy either of these two?

4. the qable for the zen works for zen vision M i assume. can anyone confirm this? im 90% sure thos it works for the vision M.

BTW, i am sending an email from the email address on his website. i noticed he hasnt logged onto head-fi for about 5 days.

the lod will have been sound quality since the zen's built-in headphone amp will be bypassed. not sure about your other questions though

hi there! thx for ur response. but..did u mean..."the lod will have BETTER sound quality.."

im not too sure what u mean by "the lod will have been sound quality"

just as the meier pple have said it on their site: "By using the bottom line output (dock connector) you establish the best possible signal transfer quality. Contacts are gold-plated."

you'd only be amplifying the "amplified" signal if you tap it out of your headphone output on your zen vision M. so best results come from the line-out dock. even if you don't hear the difference, you might prefer it psychologically! plus, with the LOD you can put the volume to zero, saving you some battery time. the mini-to-mini IC's are for line-outs like Zmod's or other modded ipod's. problem is the LOD for creative players and apple players are DIFFERENT even though they look exactly the same. so be careful when plugging them in.

thanks guys! i guess i will go for the LOD since its the same price as the mini-mini. i prolly will wait for some more responses and put an order this weekend. more responses are appreciated!
