Ok, so, I'm lost with wiring this monster up, and not having two volume pots going to my head-amp, and still having loudspeakers...

atm i've got my x-fi prelude -> CIA VHP1-> loop out -> Yam RX-770 stereo input

also fed into the RX-770 is my CD/LD player, tv tuner, and DVD player

the issue is, currently, I can only get the PC fed into the 'phones

feeding the CIA amp through the rx-770's pre/main coupler works, except that has the rx-770's volume pot influencing the level being sent to the CIA amp (which gets fun when you add in the computer's volume level as well)

i tried the tape record returnn on the 770, and the CIA didn't seem to have any sound going through it, although I might've missed something with the knob on the front (I know everything is in working order here)

basically, I want to be able to watch a movie or listen to a CD without using speakers all the time, without using the rx-770's headphone output (since that defeats the purpose of the CIA...)

so far, been looking at mixers, but that seems to just add a lot more complexity and sources of quality degredation, without really helping the situation any

so should i just suck it up and use the 770's pre/main loop and deal with the triple volume controls when using the PC? or is there some other solution?
