Just came out today. New firmware and desktop software. A heck of a lot more stable, fast and user friendly than v2.0 (the desktop app that is, the firmware has always rocked)

I can't get Overdrive audiobooks to sync, and Zune support won't help because it's a third party software. The games look and sound great and new software is sooo much faster.

I hope you guys are right about 3.0 being a good thing . Was 'marketplace' on the player menu before ? As long as it is inert & does'nt affect anything it I'm okay with it, but I started to freak when I first saw it . I have never opened marketplace as I don't want to put downloaded music (or valuable music space eating video or games) on my player. I love my *Bobcated*(google Burwen Bobcat) WMA lossless music on my Zune. Thank you very much, but I absolutely know the quality of every CD that I've ripped into WMP for my Zune. "Microsoft, please ask next time before you give me something "I" may not want for "MY" player". I know, I had the choice of changing the software version, but I may be a little less trusting next time .

The marketplace option allows you to access the marketplace via wifi from hotspots or your own wireless network of course. You can't accidently end up buying stuff, you have to set up your windows live pass and buy points before it will work.

Another cool feature is being able to buy a song you hear on FM next time you access the market place. You just add the song to your cart while it's playing. The FM station has to be using RDS for it to work, but that seems to pretty common in most markets. This is some pretty amazing stuff IMO.

Edit: I just wasted two hour playing Texas Hold'em.

You also were given the option to not install the games on your device during setup. If you don't want them, then go into the settings menu to disable them.

Marketplace doesnt show unless you set the option for it inside the software.

Not having access to the marketplace (being in the UK) - the changes I got were text that fits on the front screen without having to scroll - a 'now playing' feature and a clock. I prefer the smaller font on the front.

EDIT: Did I miss any other goodies??

Didn't you get the games? You can play them while listening to your music or the radio. I spent more time with my Zune today than I have in over a year. The graphics and sound on the games are awesome. I'm on my second recharge.

I didn't download the games. And as far as the radio is concerned, is there any way to get it to store a station? I know how to add one, but the next time I tune in, it starts seeking and there's no way to access the stations I stored.

That was the one thing I appreciated , that I was given the option about games(which I opted not to load). I just was'nt sure what the marketplace listing on my player was. I was just using games as an example. I'm not dopey enough to complain about something I had the option not to get in the first place.

Just press and hold the center of the zunepad until a small mark shows in the frequency scale. You just set a preset. However, if the station supports RDS & RT+ the station name is preset alongside the frequency #
