Cart with the Best Synergy with RSA XR-2

I recently purchased a Ray Samuel's XR-2 phono stage and was wondering what carts would have the best synergy with this stage. I have budgeted between $1000-$1500 (preferably on the lower end if possible) for a cart. I am after deep impact full bass and a 3D sound scape I need something to help me to drift into the music. Please anyone with experience with the XR-2 speak up I know there are some on the board that love this little phono stage. Let me know your thoughts. By the way it will be used in a VPI Scoutmaster with a standard arm (no signature).

based more on the scout than the phono pre I would go with a brighter cart than mellow one. While I love the ZYX bloom and think it is best in class in the under a grand category I am not sure it would sound great in this context.

I have used the dyna 20x and think this would be a great match. A lyra might also be a good match as well. I would not go crazy with the cart on the scout and think you can get a great sound in the $600-1000 range and you should not need to go much above it.

Most important what sound do you prefer lively and detailed or smoother and darker/velvety?
