The Sonic Impact T-Amp gen 2 is now in stock at a bunch of online retailers, like parts express.

I ordered one a few months ago when it was on backorder from neobits, and I got an email notification a couple days ago that it's in stock at parts express. So I ordered one from parts express just to make sure I got one.

Well needless to say now I have 2 on the way. One is for a boombox project, and the other I might use for my PC.

It's kinda pricey.

$70 is gainclone money.

Maybe, but I just received one from parts express today, and well it sounds fantastic. It even has good range and power at high volumes.

I can't believe it's so small. About the size of a portable CD player. I can't wait to work on this boombox, it's going to be awesome.

Those little Sonic T amps are one of my all time favorite audio products. I love em. They are so cool.

I love that it powers book shelf speakers for such a cheap price and they can be almost invisible in the room. I tested it once with a Denon 2910 DVD player and it sounded really good. Hook it up to any room.

An absolutely great little product, and proof that you can have very good sound for next to no money. I'm currently listening to my roughly 4-year-old, 1st gen T-Amp, driving my PSB Stratus Minis. That seems absurd, given that the Minis sold for more than a grand, but the combination sounds startlingly good.

One thing I did notice was that the sound improved dramatically when I added a 1200 mw power supply. I think the extra kick helps the T handle the Minis, which are not especially efficient: 86 dB 1w/1m into 4 Ohms.

Things start to fall apart if I try blast say, Led Zep or Bob Marley at high volume, but at moderate SPLs, the T shines. And yeah, it cost $49.

Now this thread has made me want one of the new ones.
