hi there, i was wondering if its worth getting the nylon monofilliment for cables. does it affect sound quality? or anything? i know its soft and non-microphonic but thats all i know. is it worth paying 5 dollars for 4 feet of it? or is it worth it at all? thanks, ur help is appreciated.

Since you mentioned soft and non-microphonic, you mean nylon multifilament. The monofilament is the plasticky feeling sleeving.

Oh... and, yes - it is worth it.

Just read the thread http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f21/ap...owners-361899/, which is what probably got you on this topic in the first place...

Flexability (non-stiffness, unlike techflex), softness, weight, less snaggy, etc...all are plusses.

i have a couple hundred feet of them just laying around since they they are so damn hard to insert anything into comparing to techflex. whatever you are inserting has to have a smooth surface. they also do not stretch like techflex. doing by hand 5-6ft should be no problem. these covering are not necesary for headphone cables beside cosmetic unless you are living in an enviroment filled with fire and chemical and want to protect the heaphone cable from it.
