Speakers For Trends TA-10

Hi,
I want to build a small budget speaker system to use with my iMod and CDP.
I'm considering the ALO modded Trends amp.
Can anyone recommend speakers that match this amp, around $1000 (or less).
I was looking through Stereophile's budget speakers recommendations:
Renaissance Audio MLP-403.5
Usher V-601

How will those match the amp? Can anyone recommend an audio store in north Jersey area to audition speakers?

Have you thought about the Audioengine A5s? I have them in Bamboo.
