Looking for Ipod headphone replacements

Ok so i'm not a sound expert on headphones so i'm here to ask you guys. My ipod headphones just broke and i'm looking for superior replacements. I'd like to spend 20-50 bucks. These will be used with rock, classical music mostly, and for playing video games as well. (Keep in mind that I never complained about the ipod headphones with video games so the main topic here is music)

Could somebody give me a few options to look up to steer me in the right direction? You could spoon feed me info too but i like to research before i buy.

I don't know how much they cost in the States, but I use Sennheiser Px100s for playing computer games. And very good they are too for the price. However, they are open phones, so be prepared for others to be able to hear what you are listening to at higher volumes.

PX100s are over $50, no matter where you live aren't they?

Here are the standard in-ear suggestions:
1. JVC Marshmallows
2. Senn. CX300s (but not off eBay. Lots of fakies)

Here's the standard clip-on suggestions:
1. Koss KSC75

Here's the standard full-sized headphone:
1. Senn. HD201

Some of these headphones also benefit from a nifty sub-$10 headphone amp (which gives the headphones more power, basically. This one gives it more bass too.) called the Fiio E3.

Px100s can be bought for £17.99 in the UK ~ $31. I guess we have a good deal over here!

EDIT: Amazon US are selling them for $39.99 at the moment, just to let you guys know

Yuin Pk-2 (around 70-80 bucks) for gourmet ear buds (my wife loves her's, even at what she thought was an absurd price--little does she know what absurd prices are--she thinks all my headphones are pretty inexpensive).

Grado SR-60 -- my favourite 70 buck cans. Love them.

Neither need an amp.
Both are over acheivers.

If you want to go cheap. Sennheiser HD-201 are great as others have mentioned. And these are closed cans. Nice for isolation and not bugging others around one with sound leaks.

I'm with JimBob. Go for the PX100s. The Koss PortaPros are similar too.

That said, do you need your headphones to block noise out well, and not leak sound out? 'Cos these are both "open" cans.

If they're straight from Amazon (not a Marketplace vendor), they should be real.
You can also take advantage of the $15 rebate.

Be different and go with the new Sony MRD-EX300, supposed to retail for about $60us.

ROFL, ok, im gonna tell you somthing so pay close attention, go buy the PX100 or even some of the other suggestions and never ever come back to this site again. Im tellin you, once you hear how much better some of the phones are compared to the ibuds you will only hurt your wallet in a bad way. I was like you once and now Im an addict. Run young fellow, run.

The PX100 are excellent though and if I never heard better Id love them forever, a very good buy.

haha. thanks, but i'm looking for earbuds. i have read a lot about how crappy the standard ipod buds are but i never had anything to compare them with.

so after doing lots of research, i think i'm gona go wtih the marshmallows... from what i've read they're comfortable, durable, and sound great for the money (at least better than ipod headphones i hope.) do i have to worry about fakes with these?

15 bucks is a very nice price. i would be willing to spend 50, but there are too many options to research and i'm lazy. i really liked how when i dropped the ipod headphones, the buds never broke or snapped.

are there buds for 30-50 bucks that blow away the marshmallows in the categories i've listed??
