The Spicas are well worth seeking out, however. It's relatively easy (relatively) to find a pair around (audiogon always has a few pairs $275-320.


I now LOVE these speakers!!!

It turns out my left woofer had a problem.

I don't know if it was not up to snuff from having 18 years of dust accumulated in it, or what, but I cleaned and reseated the driver and got a huge gain in lower frequencies from the driver. It completely smoothed out the dryness that was bothering me about the midrange. Lovely!

A pair of the "gumbys" just came online today... http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.p...1829344&2&3&4& and they're local as well!!!! Ohhh how tempting.

But I guess I'd better sell some of my other speakers before I jump into these or I'll be in divorce court!
