New Pair of Gaming Headphones

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me. I have no idea about headphones and am looking to buy a new pair for a maximum of $150 AUD. They will be used primarily for gaming, a bit for music and a little for movies. I'm looking at buying headphones and then buying a microphone separate (Zalman clip-on mic).

Can anyone give any advice as to which set of headphones I should buy?

Thanks

I'm using mine for PC gaming, not console, will that make much of a difference?

HD555 & AD700 are two best Gaming headphones i can think.

i am currently using HD555 for Counterstrike weekend matches and oh man... the Imaging is perfect.

With the soundstage i know exactly where the enemy is approaching from.. i am impressed.

AKG 601
Ultrasone 780
Any vintage stax
Beyer 770/880
Sen 555
Sen 595

I doubt he could get any of those for $150 unless he buys second hand.

HD555 is my recommendation as well. It might be a bit out of your price range but it's well worth it. Using it for CS gives me a heads up since I can hear approaching players. They're really something.

Actually he can, and not second hand. And i can post where.

The AD700 is 105 at newegg, Ultrasone HFI-780 is 161 at northernsound.net after you join there club for one fee time of a dollar, Sen HD555 is 80 on amazon new. And AKG601 i think was around 100-150 at northern sound I dont remember. Amazon was selling the Beryer 880 for 149 but that sell ended.

But these prices are new not used headphones.

Couldn't find the Beyers on northernsound or any pricing on the site. Neither amazon or newegg ship to Australia.
