More... Plans for stand alone headphone amp?
I remember the signature 30.2 and K1000 you had last meet, I'll have to hear this.

So far my equipment list has changed a bit. Opus will still be there with a ballsie. Adding on a Buffalo and IVY now which should be coming with me.

Balanced Millett Hybrid Max will not be coming (single ended will be though). It is being replaced by a balanced Aikido 24V headamp instead, I'll be burning some oil (though uncased) to have it finished for the meet.

I'm going to need a big table, if everything comes together as planned, my rig will be...

- Macbook via USB (source of choice for RWA Isabella)
- Fully loaded RWA Isabella. including DAC & headphone out (battery-powered tube-based linestage)
- ALO cabled phones (cans to be named - on loan from ALO)
- RWA Signature 30.2 driving K1000s (Ks on loan from Headfi member)
- RWA / ALO's new battery powered dedicated headphone amp (on loan from RWA / ALO)

Going to be fun!

I should be able to make this. Gear I would bring would include:

iRiver H120
iBasso D1 (version 2 opamps)
Monica 2 DAC (Altoid tin, no gain stage, TOSLINK and straight SPDIF)
Future Sonics Atrio m5
Beyerdynamic DT250-80 (if anyone's interested and I don't sell it first)

Hi,
I am new to the head-fi and never been to such kind of meeting. Can someone tell me how previous meeting looks like? I would like to know what activities we will have, does every one has the chance to try all of the devices? any cost for attending the meeting?... Anything regarding such kind of meeting is appreciated.
Thanks!

The cost is usually free (if you manage to protect your wallet while browsing the market area) for the meet, although there may be an opportunity to make donations. I believe that most areas for listening to equipment are a first come, first served kind of thing, you may have to wait for someone else to finish.

Here is the impressions thread with pictures from the last meet in Chapel Hill, although this one is guaranteed to be much bigger with more people, more vendors, and at least one big speaker.

Weren't you at the Chapel Hill meet a few months back? If so, you've already "seen" it. I don't think anyone actually tried it at the time, though. And admittedly the power source I had then was poor, so it wasn't a good indicator of what it could do anyway. But yeah, of all my gear, it's certainly the most unique piece. Heh.

Thanks! I will try to join you guys, and bring my amp with me, but now it is just a little too early for me to know that I can actually make it.

FREE Ear Exam

Free ear (otoscopic) exam by a physician at the meet.
Get those ears checked for excess wax, etc.

New Item to be at the meet.

Drew Baird of Moon-Audio just sent me a note that George Wright is sending him an OTL Headphone amp for the meet. Should be interesting to check out.
Thanks George and Drew.

If all goes well, I may have a Monica 3 to go along with the Altoid Tin Monica 2.

Good to hear. I tried to make that happen. Somebody told me George had a head amp and I contacted him about it and asked him if he would send to the meet thru Drew, being a dealer and all with a web presence as opposed to just some guy at the other end of an email.

Any word from Jack Woo on attending or sending some amps?
