Great timing on the heads up. Plenty of time to prepare. Maybe my back won't go out on me like last time.

I might be able to make this one.

We sure hope you can make it.

We are starting to get a terrific line up of manufacturers and retailers thanks to the great efforts of Drew (Moon Audio) and others. Things are shaping up quite nicely.

Also, the Buy/Sell/Trade section will give attendees a great opportunity to hopefully pick up some great gear at bargain basement prices. Having Joe Grado there doesn't hurt either. All in all, we are hoping there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Hey Danny,

Many thanks for bringing this great event to my attention; I'll look forward to being there. Late February in Charlotte, NC should be a relief to many who need to come South for a breath and glimpse of the spring!

For the benefit of those who have enjoyed the myriad of products resulting from the genius of Joe Grado:

http://ieee-virtual-museum.org/colle...=1234697&lid=1

it cannot over emphasized what an opportunity this truly is!! He is not only a living legend in what became known as the field of "high fidelity"; the man is just remarkable as a conversationalist and mentor. Anyone who has or hopes to one day have grandchildren will be short changing themselves out of a rare life experience and their families out of a great story by missing this likely once in a lifetime opportunity to listen to and perhaps meet Joe Grado in the spring of his 86th. year.

As others may have already brought up on this forum, Charlotte, NC is just an ideal location for such a gathering, given its easy access as an airline hub and conference friendly atmosphere. The hotel being mentioned (Hilton Charlotte Executive Park) is maybe a ten minute taxi drive from the Charlotte Douglass International Airport! I would strongly urge others to join us for what can only be described as a once in a lifetime CanFEST to end all CanFESTs!!

Go Danny Go!!

More Joe Grado news

Joe just told me that he will also plan to bring his new microphone to the show which is one amazing invention. This is a very special item and he will be doing a live demonstration with it and his Nagra recorder and Grace M902 headphone amp.

I have heard several recordings with this mic and it is revolutionary. Several major recording engineers have tried it and they are finding it to be something very special. So, those in attendance will also be able to talk with Joe about his soon to be released microphone in addition to anything else including opera, watches, stories of the history of audio and other legends he knew personally, oh...and headphones. Actually, I am going to try to convince him to bring his original prototype of the HP1 for people to see and check out.

This is fantastic. The hilton is maybe 15min. from my house and the meet is just after my birthday! And just to be sure this shindig is open to all ages, right? I'm just a fickle immature teenager so I hope thats not going to bother anybody. I am looking forward to trying out the equiptment so I can get an idea of what I like.

Of course you are welcome to attend. There is no age, or other forms of discrimination here. In fact, bring a few friends or family members if you like. I look forward to seeing you at the Meet.

Where are you going to be coming from?

Vinnie from Red Wine Audio just announced a battery-powered dedicated headphone amp. Joint effort with ALO. Looks like he’s going to ship one to me to bring to the meet.

More... Plans for stand alone headphone amp?
