Non-OS DAC with i2s input? - Page 2

I read this, and it seemed to be working without any buffers, so I thought it was quite simple.

I'll have to do a little research an all the USB asynchronous/synchronous stuff.
Any specific good USB-I2S DAC's to start the search? I don't think I'd want to spend more than a 1000$ on a DAC.

I'm too confused now. The last one looks too DIY-ish for me.

I can get it locally for ~ the same price new. I'll take it home for audition next week. However, it's DAC chip is an upsamplin one, and I'm not sure it has the _benefits_ of a true NOS DAC.

Have looked around following the suggestions of 1up (wow - thanks)
The Audial Aya II seems to be fine and maybe when you ask they will add an I2S connection. (It is built around the 1541! like the Zanden.) - Test on tnt audio.
It seems to be possible to add an I2S connection to USB-Monica from diyparadise.
Maybe Derek Shek (Sigtone) will add an I2S port when you ask.

Well - test it first with the North Star ....
