Help me with purchasing parts!

Hi, my name is uniuniunium and I am a DIY Audio ignoramus.
[audience: hi uniuniunium]
I have this problem. You see, I've never built any kind of electronic equipment myself before, and as such, I've never bought the parts for such a project. I've decided to build myself this phono preamp (I'm using the version on the bottom of that page), but when I started going through DigiKey's catalog, I soon realized that I was over my head. I don't have the slightest clue as to what kind of resistors or caps I should be using for this project. A search for a 4.7Ohm resistor turned up like 50 matches. Which ones was I supposed to buy? I had no way of knowing. So you see my problem here.
I compiled the following parts list

I'm not sure what kind of resistors or capacitors would be best or would work with this project, nor do I have any clue which op-amp I should use. If you could provide me with some guidance as to what I should be looking for, I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks,

I would use BC Components .4w metal film resistors. I would also use Panasonic FC series electrolytic caps.
You should socket the opamp so that you can amp roll. I think it is a known fact the Opa2134 would be the better opamp.

Here is Digikey's part number for the socket: AE7313 You probably want to order 2, since it looks like your preamp has 2 op amps.

The BC part numbers are BC<value with decimal>KYCT-ND

So a 1.5K resistor would be BC1.50KYCT-ND On the 47 ohm resistors they may be 47.5 ohms which is fine.

thanks for the replies guys

I'm wondering if there is a book or FAQ somewhere that explains in general what one should look for in audio components and/or what brands are good for what. There don't seem to be many reviews or sites that deal with individual electronic components for DIYers, or at least from what google has revealed to me. I was browsing a DIY parts site and saw things like "beeswax paper foil capacitors," if for no other reason than curiosity, I'd like to know why on earth beeswax makes good audio components

Thanks again,
-uni

edit: I'm assuming that I want the 1% tolarance resistors, also what kind of packaging do I want?

Another question about the caps: what voltage caps should I be using? (I'm assuming something around 9V, but as I said, I've never done this before and I don't want to screw up the order )

Tangent's Tutorial is a great place to start. It explains the voltages on the caps in there, but you want to get a cap that is rated at a higher voltage than your source. It doesn't matter if you go higher, you just don't want to go lower. The voltages on different caps are usually 10, 15, 25, 35, 50...
