Ripping rituals - Page 2

I don't know about all the other crap they are talking about on that forum, but the PSP actually does sound ok when you use a portable amp. Of course, then you're saddled with a big unweildy mess, but at lest when you're not listening to music on it, you can play some games, web browse via wi-fi, stream media from your PC, listen to internet radio feeds (assuming you can actually use that crap interface to find one worth listening to), watch a movie, etc. I use mine as a catch-all media device when I travel, but it's not what I'd consider "audiophile" by any stretch. The cost of storage has come down a lot, and I have a couple of 4GB memory cards that I take with me. One has music, the other movies. It was nice watching Fight Club and Children of Men while flying, and having more than aenough music to tide me over. The SQ is passable, but like most devices the EQ pretty much blows. I wish the PSP had a line-out.

No you're all wrong...

I like to scratch the surface until I get to the shiny part, got to get all the bad juju out. Then I go rock myself to sleep in the corner of the room. When I wake up and listen to what I've done its pure bliss. Although a sacrifice here and there couldn't hurt.

I think there is some sort of cable for you to plug PSP into a TV in component video output and stereo RCA? Of course that would be an even bigger mess.

I have a Sony Ericsson phone, and I think it sounded not too different from a typical DAP as a source, though the internal amp's driving power is rather sub par, I'd imagine that PSP won't sound any worse.
