Yeah, both of the two sellers asked me if interested. I just used all my money on something else, what a pity. Before that I'd been looking for the mini quite a long time. They are cheap in the U.S, which is about US$650. I onced contacted a seller on ebay who didn't sell out of conus, so strange. THere is one on-line shop I know which sells for a cheap price and ships world-wide, it is possible to get one from them for a very good price but it takes a while to get their response: Professional Audio Recording Equipment | Vintage King Audio | 248.591.9276

I ordered an Apogee mini via Studio Exchange (Welcome To Studio Exchange).
I first saw they were selling Mini-dac's via eBay (eBay.be: APOGEE MINI DAC - UK B STOCK - 1 YR WARRANTY (object 220250957434 eindtijd 25-sep-08 11:37:36 CEST)). Therefore I contacted Studio exchange via eBay and they told me I was able to buy a new Mini-dac from their main shop (not via expensive eBay and Paypal), so I immediately ordered one. Perhaps you could contact Studio Exchange as well? Prices are a "bit" expensiver then $650 USD.

I sold my Apogee Mini-dac because it's more a portable dac and it includes a headphone amp. Since I don't use a headphone on my Akg rig, it would have been better to have looked for a different dac without a built-in headphone amp. I should have looked carefully for more other dacs that might have a better digital-to-analog conversion.

I don't know for what purposes you are considering buying an Apogee Mini-Dac. If it were only for pure dac purposes (without headphone amp), then I would suggest a different dac like for example Oritek Audio - OMZ DAC Information Page . Too bad it doesn't have a balanced XLR output.

Well, I have to admit portable is not my main priority, although I love mini-dac...

(and another bump )

I regret that I have sold the new Apogee MiniDac for $610 USD (shipping included) because I have paid +/- $200 USD more for it
I should have checked the specs more carefully before I bought it, but I was a bit in a hurry. Fortunately, I am learning from my "mistakes"

Taken from Apogee MiniDac reviews:
"The Ultimate D/A for Reference Monitoring in the Studio or on the Road - Firewire option included

Following the huge success of Mini-Me, Apogee is excited to offer the latest addition to our Mini Series, Mini-DAC. This professional quality,192kHz D/A converter, is the ultimate portable and compact solution for studio playback, reference monitoring, and premium home audio systems.
"

It is really a nice dac, but it didn't have dual RCA outputs
It had a mini analog RCA output.
On the other hand, it has XLR balanced outputs which is a great plus!
It has a headphone amp which I didn't need.
