Quick CK2III question

quick question does VR1 & VR2 need some isolation pads between the bare metal contacts and the heatsink?

Thanks.

Look at the board, the heatsinks are not connected to anything so no, you don't need to isolate them. You do want to use heatsink compound or a heatsink thermal pad though.

No just use some thermal past and you'll be good.

Thank you!

I would have another CK2III question.

I build this amp and like it very much, if .... if it is warm already. In the first hour it does not sound good. This is very annoying for me. I do not want to leave it on, but can not wait one hour either. 5-10min would be O.K.

Do you have experience to build on a really large heatsink ? I'm thinking about to put it into an enclosure which is a big heatsink. I suspect, the working temperature will be much lower, so bias current will be close on the just switched on amp to a running for a day amp. I suspect the bias current is what makes the difference. That settles very slow.

Another way would be, to use no heatsing, so transistors heats up quick. There is problem with this, I like it on high bias current.

?

Thanks,

JG
