I'm not sure if everyone's aware of this adapter but here it is.It's a usb adapter as well as line out, this is the only adapter I could find so I went with it. No I'm not going to cut off the usb cable

I don't have an amp yet, planning to get the Fiio sometime but here's the pictures (not too good, rush job )

Where did you get yours?

There is a post somewhere on these forums saying that it doesn't really function as line out. Wonder if that is true.

A friend of mine who went to Japan bought it for me.

You can buy it on ebay but it's expensive, ships from japan
OFFICIAL Suntac charging cable for SONY walkman WS-12L - (eBay.ca item 300253320553 end time 24-Sep-08 16:12:10 EDT)

How does it not function as a line out? If I go to the hidden service menu and test the line out function instead of headphone jack , it works fine.

I'll try find the post. Wait a second.

I have no idea though - never used a Sony player =(

I'll need to do some more listening tests myself, I haven't spent much time with it yet

Right off the bat, headphone out and line out sounds different

can you use the line out without anything attached to the usb connector? If so, that would be very nice.

The unit discussed in the link is a car adaptor rather than usb i believe.

How much did it cost in Japan and where did it come from? I haven't seen anything like that around here.

Yes I am using line out without anything attached to the usb

My friend got it at yodobashi, as well as my NW-A828 white

Very nice - now an amp is in my future for my A829!!!! Thanks kite7!!!! You may have to start an import business for us now though!

holy moly, time to sell my p2 and get a nice a829.. can the sony's drag and drop? I really wanna try the sony's with my boa.
You can drag and drop onto the Sony's, yes, but for some reason it doesn't correctly transfer the 'year' section of the ID3. Everything else (including album art) works just fine via drag+drop.

No album art with drag and drop as well.

Not sure about others, but I have an NWZ-a818 and I am absolutely certain that I get album art from drag&drop. Might be different with 82x's? Don't see why it would be, though.
