Havn't logged on here in a while ( a few months)...
The weather out here is quite lovely - although cold.... Winter has set in and it has a bit of a bite....
My comparisons and subsequent comparisons have reached the same conclusion.
The Onkyo TX-SR876 headamp is good, and certainly as good as basic/budget headamps.
Listening has been done with Revox 3100 (OEM Beyer DT880 circa 1985), Koss Pro4x, ATHD700, Sennheised PCX450
Comparisons: Matrix M-Stage, Firestone Cute Curve, eMu 1616m headphone out, Motherboard headphone out
The Matrix M-Stage is my best headphone amp - but it is not as if the AVR is left in the dust... it is a slight but noticeable step up. (no huge jaw dropping improvement)
Hope this helps
bye for now
David
