Burn in time it's the key with Ultrasone drivers.

Burn in time: PL650 minimum 300 hours, PL750 minimum 400 hours.
We can say, 14 to 30 day's non stop burn in time. Or 6 months of everyday 2-3 hours listing time.
This what it's take me to burn in my PL650.
So, the titanium driver like the PL750 can take even more burn in time then my PL650.
LOL! When will this madness ever end? SIX MONTHS of burn in time?!?!? This has gone beyond humorous.

I may just have to list this in my signature under the definition of insanity.

When it takes six months to burn in, you just have to admit to yourself that the cans aint gettin any better

After 6 months even the hollow coloration in the lower mid, 200Hz to 500Hz start to blend more into the overall sound spectrum......

After 6 months, I think it's called accommodation.

But, but, but...I swear they make a very noticeable shift at the 5th hour of the 2nd week during the 4th month of burn in. That unfortunate recessed midrange magically sprouts out of nowhere and transforms the Ultrasones in to the powerhouses they were destined to become. It's an amazing epiphany of sonic proportions. Actually, I'm not 100% certain whether or not that magical day in the 4th month is something I should attribute to the burn in of the drivers or to the burn in of my brain finally acclimating itself to the stunning glorious beauty that is S-Logic.

Either way, somewhere between the 140th and 150th day......PURE MAGIC!

LOL, good stuff. It is the realization that you're stuck with those cans and nobody wants to buy them that makes you think they are the BOMB! An instant cure for buyer's remorse hehehe

After the 4th month your brain sales are toasted. But lucky you, now your brain can reproduce a new sales that can appreciated the Ultrasone Magic

If you had asked me two years ago about headphone burn-in, I'd have mirrored some of these comments on the long time it takes for Ultrasones to sound their best. However, this naysayer has been converted (almost dragged, kicking & screaming, actually ).

It takes at least 200 hours for the Prolines to begin showing their true colors. When you get a pair, plan on running them 24/7 for two weeks straight. After that, they may continue to mature, but at a less obvious rate, ime.

Four pairs of Ultrasones all (2 pairs of Proline 750's, 1 pair of 2500's, and 1 pair of Proline 650's) exhibited this exact behaviour. We Ultrasone lovers have come to accept this as a fact of life, and a small price to pay for the excellence these headphones eventually deliver. Other audiophiles do a lot more for a lot less.

Given how well-documented this burn-in requirement is, it's a wonder why Ultrasone wouldn't do sufficient burn-in prior to sending out review samples.

Probably because of their apparent unwillingness to listen to much that this community has to say. After becoming a premier sponsor and setting up their own forum here I had hoped this would change, but communication to and from Ultrasone reps is still very sporadic and fruitless.
