HD650 Mods and Closed? - Page 2

just tried tonight out of curiosity.

i've tried on my spare pair of hd 600 removing the small foams behind the driver.what a bass response!!!!
never heard this bass on the hd 600.
The upper registry opens a bit.The sound of bass seems to me less congested and has a more natural sound.A little more speed on transients.
Before removing the foams on the outside of the drivers i've listened 2 times to a song i'm extreme familiar with.And i've done the comparison listening to the same song
after the mod:there's clearly a change.I'ts not snake oil.Try for yourself.

I'm not an audiophile.i'm a former audio mastering engineer.I tend to judge things from a professional point of view.

I've been using the hd 600 since 2007 and i deeply know its own sound signature.

My hd 600 is recabled balanced with CryoParts SCSCag wire.My headphone monitoring system is called hpba2-s by Qes Labs. 

There's clearly an improvement.It's like going from a 2.5 ways speaker to a 3 way full range speaker with bigger woofers that go deeper in the bass registry.

The stereo image also improves.
