Hah, it haven't come out yet.
But, i've heard someone who said that it's good, someone who demoed it at one of the fairs, and another one who said se530 and various other top ones like tf10 are better than them.

Hi, I'm also interested in the sennheiser CX6.

I plan to buy a sony S639F, but the bass sounds boomy and uncontrolled with the sennheiser CX300 that I own.
The close design of the CX6 opposed to the open design from the IE6 (from what I see in the pictures), looks like a must have for noise isolation in the subway or train.
I really would like to know more about them...

CX6: Sennheiser Electronic - CX 6 Travel
IE6: Sennheiser Worldwide - IE 6, Professional Earphones, high-fidelity sound

I've just bought a sennheiser cx 6.
They are very beautiful and comfortable and for now I just wanted to share some photos:

The first impression is that they sound closed, maybe they have just a bit too much bass for my taste. But I'll listen to them more carefully and with different sources...

-EDIT-1-

Sony S639F:
I went to a shop and compared the CX6 with the CX300, using the demo songs in the S639F with flat eq.
The bass in cx6 is controlled and fast and the mids/highs are present, opposed to the cx300 were the bass is boomy and gets mixed with the mids.
The cx6 are a better match for the S639F than the cx300.
I dont have the S639F, so it's dificult to say whats the S639F and what are the phones...
There was some noise in the shop and I would say the sound isolation from the cx6 appears to be the same as the cx300.
The cx6 has the same mid size plugs as the cx300 and I get a good seal with them.

What I have:
Headphones: Grado SR125
CD player: Sony CDP-XB930 QS
Receiver/Amp: Yamaha RXV-1400rds
Speakers: B&W DM 603 S2 (floorstanders + some more B&Ws).

Both the B&W and the Grado have a sound that I love and don't feel like changing it.
I like to listen to jazz (+ a lot other music types) and have some xrcd's and other well recorded cds.
I also liked the sennheiser HD600, they sound very good to me, but I preferred to buy a pair of grados (without hesitation) as I prefer their sound signature and can't have both.

Unfortunately these can't be compared to any mp3 players + ear canal phones that I've listen to.
All ear canal phones that I've tried are always around 100 eur and they never sound good enough.
I use my mp3 player when I have to take the subway to go downtown and take this opportunity to listen and get to know other music types.

-EDIT-2-

I've listen to more mp3's with the S639F and the CX6.

This set is just perfect for playing 320kbps Diana Krall (for a 100eur IEM), her voice sounds full and rich and the bass and treble is just right.
When playing some other lower bit rate and not so good quality mp3's the lower quality can be heard and I found the mids (voice) a little recessed.
This set is also very good to play pop/rock as it has a very strong and fast bass response.
People that like a good and tigh bass dominating the music spectrum will like this set.

The CX6 will go very low, producing a strong bass but also going bellow 50Hz and producing a subwoofer like bass.
Personally and this is a matter of taste, I dont find low subwoofer sound pleasing, I like it for cinema, but not for music.
(It would had to be a very good quality subwoofer to produce music, and the ones I've heard didnt)
The S639F equalizer is very good, the best one I've heard in a mp3 player, but it doesnt equalize bellow 50 Hz, so its impossible to reduce the sub 50 hz, sub woofer like bass that is exessive (to me) in some musics. The S639F increses gain bellow 50 Hz freq. (DAC gain) and doesnt let us lower it (DAC gain or equalizer).
Maybe this will please ppl that like bass, but I would prefer to decrese this sub 50hz freq. gain.

Overal I found this set very pleasing, it's has a good and strong bass, a bit exagerated to my personal taste bellow 50Hz (only to be found in tracks that go this low) and this can be from the S639F.
In 100 eur range I've also heard sure, and I prefer the more warm and colored sound of the CX6 than the dry and more linear sure sound. This set is fun to listen with good quality mp3's.

Note: This view reflects my personal taste and my very limited experience with IEMs.

Nice pics,if they are anything like the IE8, they need serious burn-in, like 200+ hours to tame the bass and improve the highs.
Do they have or the same drivers as the IE6?
Don't see the point of sennheiser having so many phones at similar prices.CX550, CX6, IE6 etc.
Yeah, they are really populating their product line with so many similarly priced products. Very confusing.

I've updated my post about the CX6 with a "sony S639F in the shop test" and added "what I have":

Thanks for the information, I'll let them burn-in.

I think they have the same drivers as the IE6, they have exactly the same specs, but one diference that I spot from the photos is that IE6 looks like a open design and the CX6 is closed.

One question that I will have, is if the CX95 are better than the CX6.
In one hand the CX6 are close related to the IE series, but in the other hand the CX95 have better response in highs from the specs and that can translate in an more open sound and less bass...
CX 95's bass is pretty heavy, like CX 300 in quantity but tighter and better quality. I am going to guess that the CX 6 should be better than the CX 95, if only due to the price (£100 vs around £60).

Either way, Sennheiser's product naming does not make any sense!

i think we really need some comparison reviews across the new sennheiser range, would be good to know how the cx6 ie6 ie7 all compare to the much talked about ie8

Nate Lanxon from CNET UK reviewed many IEM's including sennheiser CX400, CX500, CX95, IE6, IE7 and IE8.
Point here is that all these are reviewed by the same person.
Unfortunably he didn't review sennheiser CX 6.

Thank you, for compiling all the reviews into one post. These Cnet reviews seem to be too short and simple. Making them indecisive. The guy never mentions anything about the isolation problems that have been discussed on headfi. Leading me to believe that those Cnet reviews are for casual users, who may not know good from bad in the IEM/canalphone world.

I've -EDIT-2- my CX6 post again.

@Usama:
Yes I've to agree with you.
The idea is if you have one of the sets he reviewed, you can validade or not his personal oppinion and extrapolate if the other ones are better or not.
