The reason, unfortunately, is that he has a contract that it's going to be prohibitive for ND to break...too much $$.

I also thought that Ty Willingham was treated very poorly by ND. So now they're stuck with someone who is shaping up to have been a pretty poor pick. Believe in karma??

Yeah, it's ok. We don't have many friends in Michigan or Oklahoma

I don't think a Pac 10 Ref would dare go anywhere near Oklahoma for a few decades at least.

yeah willingham got a raw deal from nd. i felt he had a good program going there. i wonder how safe his job is at washington. i know the huskies will finish near the last again in the pac 10 this year. weis is supposed to be some sort of offensive genius but the only thing offensive about his team last year was the offense in general. downright disgusting.

I would take Willingham as my coach in a cocaine heartbeat, ND did him wrong for sure. Weis won with Willingham's recruits and they're all gone now, I think Weis owes Ty a fruit basket for that fat contract. I hope UW gives Willingham a couple more years to turn around their awful program, I think he can do it. If Jake Locker can't get healthy they're in for a long season.

it's tough to win in the pac ten. usc swipes up every speed recruit in the nation. as far as willingham goes, i guess everything comes round full circle. washington does neuheisel wrong and terminates him for a stupid reason. nd terminates willingham because they want one of their own, then washington hires willingham. hopefully they will keep him. he deserves it.

Don't forget Neuheisel first lied to his boss about the betting. No matter how trivial the offense, lying to your boss is not smart. Also, he put Colorado on probation. We'll see how he does in L.A, but he has never struck me as the most ethical guy in the room. Maybe he's older and wiser now?

Well I off to my favorite fall destination for a glorified scrimmage - bleh. Good luck to everyone's teams today, espescially if their contest will be officiated by Pac 10 refs! (j/k MoonShine, not really )

The Fighting Irish

Ty did get a raw deal and Charlie is not the saviour that he was supposed to be. Touchdown Jesus must be weeping. College football for ND is big business and a great marketing tool for the university. Great pressure to win. We alums demand that Notre Dame win!! Afterall, our earning potential rises and sinks with the teams fortunes. Okay, maybe not, but it's an interesting, if unempirically unverified, concept.

On a another note! The Thiel Tomcats are posed for greatness. I hope.

Cheers!

So it looks like Appalachian State won't be sneaking up on any D-1 schools this year...LSU is slapping them around pretty well right now. We Michigan fans thank Coach Miles (Michigan '82).

The down side of this, however, is that I've seen that damn blocked field goal probably 10 times so far today.

I am going to the Oregon State vs Hawaii game in 2 weeks.
After the beatdown Florida just laid on the Rainbows I hope it won't be the Lame Bowl.

Didn't take long for a couple of juicy upsets: Pittsburgh and VA Tech go down.

sorry about my team swiping up your top quarterback prospect elrod. really i'm not. pryor is in a better place. if it makes you feel any better i'm still crying about beanie wells going down. oh and i know what you are going throuogh with the highlights from app state. we are currently the butts of all the jokes for losing two straight title games in such poor fashion. i know we got ran of the field but there is still something to be said for getting to a title game. if it happens again this year i expect us to be deemed the bills of the college ranks.

Michigan - OUCH
Pitt - OUCH
VaTech - OUCH

Always some eye-popping first week scores!

Nice showing by the Wildcats up in Evanston today. Shook off some early game turnovers and went on to dominate. Go U NU!

WOO for michigan losing.

BOO for Michigan State currently sucking hard against Cal.

Well, tough first loss for Michigan. Looks like they put the wrong QB in to start the game, as they sure won the second half.

Be interested to see how they do the next few weeks. I put the over/under at 8 games (prior to a bowl game), and I think we can still stick to that (though at the start of Q4, I was thinking it might be a long year).
