C700 vs. RE2 vs. c551 vs. RE1 badly amped

So any direct comparisons of these?

I know that the c700's will be better than the RE2's and C551's but by how much?

I've found a super good price for the c700's considering I'm from NZ ($US150 including shipping) but I've got the RE2's with a Fiio amp and just wondering if it's worth the upgrade?

Also I've read that there might be better alternatives in the US$150 pricerange thna the c700, is this true?

Also the more expensive RE1 could be an option but I was just wondering if it would go well with a Fiio amp....mmmmm....

Also compleitng this simple sentance might help

The c700's is SQ wise ___ % better than the c551's.

RE1 > RE2 even unamped.

Also, just out of curiosity, where did you read that the c700 is better than the RE2?

Just concerned that if it's unamped, the increased volume factor might be an issue.
Not too comfortable with increased volume tbh.
What about unamped re1 vs. c700's?

*Bloody stock clearances causing this delimma*
*I planned to buy an X-fi Prelude today but this popped up*

ARGH!!!

I can still get deafening volume out of a Creative Zen MP3 player unamped.

Have you considered getting a portable amp/dac(which can also act as an external soundcard) instead of the Prelude?

It's really not worth it if you're not bringing out the potential in RE1.

For my needs, which include gaming, the X-fi Prelude suits my needs the best and I've been reading alot about it.
Might change the opamp to the LT1361 or LT1469 (if I can find the thing here anywhere!!)
X-fi Prelude + AD700 = drool gaming sound setup.
Anyway, I probably won't get the RE1's anyway as the RE2's with a fiio amp = great synergy with my Cowon D2 and it stupidly good value wise.
So how good are the C700's compared to the c551's/RE2's?
The two Denon's are a no brainers in terms of more bass but how does the treble compare, that's the main issue for me and wether it's worth it vs. the c551's?

From the big C700 thread, the 551s don't seem too far behind. Better mids and highs, though. It's over double the price here though, isn't it? So...where's this stock clearance? Hehe.
