Pandora may pull the plug!

If you listen to Pandora, or any internet radio for that matter, this may be of interest to you.

A news article states that Pandora may pull the plug on it's music feeds due to fees eating the profits.

They are not alone as many internet radio stations are struggling to survive, many with little chance of doing so successfully.

Could not care less, really!
Their service have not been available outside the US anyway. Aka, limited service...

I will be sad if they do. I've found a lot of awesome music due to their recommendations.

That's too bad, I hadn't realized that . . . being in the US I often forget to consider that.

In any case, I do not use Pandora either, but I think this is indicative of the start of the decline of internet radio as we know it, likely leaving only iTunes types and possibly some subscription sites.

those guys are going to be kicking their own rears when they force everyone who is making them any money at all to shut down. even before a cut of $25 million in revenue is something compared to the nothing their going to get when its gone.

Same here, thank goodness for pandora, or I might never have heard some of my (now) favorite artists and composers.

Perhaps Pandora should try what the music industry suggest, find more innovative revenue models. One start could be to allow a larger user base to take advantage of their service, hence multiply the advertising income.
US have 300 million inhabitants, while Europe as an example have 730 million inhabitants...

What sucks is I've recently found out about Pandora (like 2 months ago) and have found TONS of music through it. Also, it's engine is the only one that doesn't SUCK and actually recommends/plays good tunes!!!!
