Dearest Head-cases
Please excuse my lack of familiarity with this process; this is my first inquiry in ForumLand.
I'm a pro musician; I work hotels as a solo performer and use backing tracks for accompaniment (I record 'em on a home studio rig and put them on minidisc for the gigs). To get more oomph out of my minidisc player I bought a PA2V2. It's a delightful little item and does the trick nicely however I'd like something that either gives me more sonic dynamics (bigger bottom, clearer mid-top) or has something akin to tone controls. I need it to be portable and a recharge feature is essential. I do not need or want a USB on it; it just won't get used and will probably cost me a bit more to have a USB version. That said, there is a very nice pro-gear alternative (Rolls SE162 Red Square) but if I buy a headphone amp it's a casually sneaky way of buying something I can use for my own fun during unwind sessions after the gigs AND my darling sweet wife never questions 'gear-for-work' purchases. Clever me huh?
So Head-fiers, please fill my head with options and I'll do my best to figure out how to read your opinions. Of course if you have something you want to sell me, send me a personal message keeping in mind that I'm in Australia. For now.
Thanks.
Best wishes for health, happiness and prosperity to every single bloody one of you.

not sure the exact term) speakers will sound crap. Someone could correct me on this, but also the signal level output from a headphone jack is different the signal level output on a speaker jack. There are portable amps that "will drive" speakers, but I would not try it with an expensive portable headphone amp.
