This happened to me as well, it just stopped touching one day, though I feel as if the headphones have lost a touch of aggression to them as if they are a tad further away from the driver. If that makes sense. 

@rawrster, if I'm reading correctly the Violectric has an output impedance of 10ohms, which is too much to properly power the Ad2000, the D1 would be fine though.

My ears are still touching, it just doesn't really bother me anymore.

Actually the output impedance of my amp is less than 1 ohm.

Anyone not using a Dynalo or M3 hasn't really heard the AD2K.

 I've seen you mention that a few times. The Zana Deux is supposed to have amazing synergy with them as well-have you heard them on that, and how does it compare to the Dynalo?

I've heard the AD2K on the ZD, but not enough to really say anything specific about it other than that it sounded very good. Craig of Eddie Current has his own AD2K too, which he uses with his amps. Not sure how a Dynalo comparison is relevant since it's a different amp type and there's a huge price difference too.

Anyway, my comment was meant for folks who can't afford expensive amps because the Dynalo and M3 are both relatively cheap and can be DIY-ed too. The ZD is a good amp for the AD2K too, for those who don't mind paying a lot more.

Reason I asked is because I have a Zana on the way, a Dynalo in my bedroom, and previously sold my 2 AD2Ks! Yes I'm an idiot. The best sound I have heard to this day was my Ref 9>>>C-2 SA>>>AD2000.

I really like my O2 with my Ad2000, have you heard it with the Ad2000 to compare ASR? I can't really imagine much of a difference since the O2 is a neutral/transparent amp.

Anyone know the price of AD2000's pads and the easiest way to get them? My local distributor offer me around 80 USD per pair, I think that's realitively expensive for a pair of pad compare to other brand like Senn HD650 or Beyer DT880.

No, haven't heard that amp, and no plans to listen to one either. The amp designer's behavior on Head-Fi before he was banned (and another forum, where he was also banned) turned me off to anything he might have made, regardless of quality.

And no offense to anyone intended, but I'm not sure why I get questions on if I've heard something or not. I haven't exactly made it a secret that everything I've heard is listed in my profile. I've specifically mentioned that in a lot of the big reviews that I've written, including my AD2K re-review last year. Do folks not read my profile? The ZD isn't listed in my profile either, for the sole reason that I've never owned it and have heard it only at meets under less-than-ideal conditions. If I had an opportunity to really listen to it, I would've added it to my profile by now, but I haven't yet.

Maybe some of us think you're a well respected member here from whom we can glean meaningful information from. Personally, I don't spend much time ready others' profiles, especially since they are so hit and miss between Head-fiers. Heck mine is WAY off for gear I have owned in the past year or two. Sorry you're offended.

Pretty much this. It's a conceited to assume everyone is going to look at your profile and especially for everyone to assume it's updated, mine hasn't been in months. I like your reviews, but that's a very arrogant post. I asked a question, won't ask any more. I also think it's silly to ignore a great product for that reason especially considering the shady/questionable actions of the owners/creators of some of the gear you own that I won't get into. I won't even get into the far worse companies you more than likely support on a daily basis through your food, electronics, clothing, beer, and etc.

Edit: I'm sorry for my tone, but I can't help but feel as if I'm being talked down to and no one appreciates being talked down to. I respect your opinion Asr, that's why I asked you. 

I think I'm going to try to give the AD2k a chance now. The force of the clamp is a bit much for me so hopefully with some time it loosens up a bit and some have said as much so I'm going to just use these for a week or so. I don't believe the AD2k is on par with the HD800 in terms of enjoyment from what I've heard so far but I'm hoping it can be next to the HD800 where I can choose one depending on my mood. The HD800 is something that does wow me while the AD2k doesn't. If after a week or two it doesn't do much for me maybe I can sell them but none of the top dynamic or orthos really interest me but I shall find out.

My gear should not be a limiting factor so that isn't an issue either.
