Comments: I bought this from Todd the Vinyl Junkie in mid 2006. I am the unit's first owner. I am selling it to fund further purchases up the audio food chain (maybe some nice new connects). This is a great introduction to headphone audio for those wanting to start their journey with something affordable. I am selling it at a greatly reduced cost to myself in an effort to keep it within the head-fi community. I will soon be moving to Canada and might as well ship this unit off to its new owner rather than ship it home.
Specifics: This is an out-of-production Meier-Audio's Aria. Anyone planning to use European phones (Ultra, Senns, AKGs) with the unit will be very happy. The unit lends extra weight, dynmancs and transperancy to the sound. The unit includes a built-in USB DAC. Getting the DAC out of the usually very noise environment of a computer is one of the unit's greatest strengths. It greatly reduces grain, especially noticable on the treble, and makes listening much less fatiguing and more musical. Piano through my HD595s was suprisingly realistic in tone and weight. This is an ideal desktop solution.
Condition: 9/10. I'd give it a 10/10 but that really is for things brand new. The unit is built like a tank and will continue to look new for years to come. Internationally shipping poses no threat to build-quality this high.
Accessories: Meier-audio didn't include a USB or power cable with the unit. I will be sure to include both to the buyer. I also have the original box and documents.
Shipping: Here's the Deal! I'm in Japan and would feel bad putting the burden of getting this unit overseas on a fellow head-fi'er. I will eat all shipping costs (excluding customs, which I doubt their will be any) of sending this thing airmail to anywhere in the world. Japanese shipping is a bit tricky but I trust them implicitly and have seen much crazier and pricer stuff shipped in Japan with absolutely no problems.
Payment: Payment is by money order in CND or US funds. Mailed to my father in Canada to cut down on your postage. Once I get the Ok, I release the unit as per usual internet auction etiquette. PayPay is also okay! (Buyer pays fees.) PM me for details.
