Upgrade my Entech to WHAT? - Page 2

I went from an Entech 205.2 to a Firestone Spitfire DAC which I considered a successful yet economical ($220) upgrade.
I also considered the purchase of a Zero DAC to be a substantial upgrade from the Entech.

It is a crying shame, and a burden to the wallet of those on a budget, when frequent comments are posted that give the unproven impression that a DAC above a certain price point is better that a DAC below that price point. A few links to reviews and test results to back up such wild claims would be helpful. I guess however that they don't exist, but I stand corrected.

My advise has always been to confirm that you can send the item back if it doesn't match your needs. Once that is agreed and you are on a budget, then start listening to the cheapest one that has many happy customers.
Don't feel pressurized into spending more than you would like to, especially if the advise to spend more comes from people who are guessing what something cheaper sounds like. They are after all guessing WITH YOUR MONEY. That is like taking betting tips.
Are they going to refund you your losses if they get it wrong??? Nope, but some equipment manufacturers would, if you don't like their product.

I had an entech 205.2 and upgraded to a modded Lite DAC-AH. The difference was very noticeable. Like night and day. I would recommend the Lite DAC-AH.
