I wonder, what is better DAC with builtin amp, or DAC+AMP

Yep
I know there is more to it, like what kind of DAC and what kind of amp and so on
But, still
If u need both a DAC and an AMP for your headphones
What will give u a better result?
And headphones amp + DAC, not at the same box, or two in the same unit ?

I'm sure most will say separates due to isolation, separate power supplies and likely much better quality options in general to say the least.

HeadLover, this is in the wrong forum, and although you ask good questions, you might want to look around a bit. You've posted questions everywhere, all too general for anyone to be able to help. Why not do some searches, see what folks have come up with and are doing, and then if you have more specific questions, you might get answers that will be more tailored to your needs.

Go into either the amp or source forums, used advance search, and type in "amp/dac" and/or "dac" or whatever, and ask to have only titles shown. That should keep you busy for awhile help narrow things down for you.

For portable applications, I like a all-in-one-box solution.

Otherwise, you maintain greater upgrade flexibility with separates.

I've moved it to the amp forum, though it could easily be in the DAC forum too.

I'd suggest that the OP should spend some time in both, and check out some separates and DAC's that others have used.

I would say separate units. Since it give you:
* Isolation between components.
* Flexibility.
* More alternatives to choose from.
* ...

None is "better" though, as its all personal preference.
