mine have improved with wd40. tried silicone grease spray 1st, lasted only a few days. the wd has more effect. if that wears off will try thicker oil.
this shouldnt be required for cans of this class/cost.
i read somewhere , maybe on here, that someone sold their ath-w5000 because of the same problem.
ironically it dont happen with my (much cheaper) a900!

having said all that, i am very impressed with the SQ from my system. so they will not be sold

Hi all,
What's your opinions now about the AD2000?
If you have to compare them with DT880, HD 600

I have to inquire...you bumped a rather old thread (which is generally considered suboptimal, FIY...usually you want to start a new thread, rather than revive a long-inactive one) full of impressions on the AD2000 to ask for impressions on the AD2000.

My suggestion: start a new thread, titled something like "AD2000 vs HD600 and DT880", wherein you mention your interest in the three types of headphones, what interests you about each, what you'll be using them for, what you'll be running them off, and what kind of music you like.

That'll probably give you better results than reviving an old thread that's a little OT anyhow.

AD900.
AD900 is excellent in the installation feeling.
It doesn't become tired even if it uses it for a long time thanks to Ear Pads with the thickness.
