I'd say around $550-$600...depends on what cable too...I got mine done for around 500 looking at building a cable too perhaps

Everything would be done by MCA (recabled/woodied). Around $500 it seems.

$500 for mine was including the cost of the D2000s too..Martin does excellent work.

For my Lawton modded D-5000 wood cups, mod,  and ear pads no cable was near $600.00 including shipping both ways + D-5000 which were $540.00 Total= $ 1,140.00 that's 2 years ago.

Personnally i liked the cups thats why i had them done ,now i hardly listen to them anymore since i aquired my Senns HD800 .

$500.  That's a typical $300 donor with $100 damping charge, $250 cups, $200 cable on it marked down to selling price.  Add some nice pads and the investment is over $900 when you add it up.

Anyone got any dac/amp combo suggestions for the D2000?

the d2k is pretty easy... any combo should do fine. look for something that can accommodate "easy to drive" cans, something with low gain. i use an Odac and O2 and thats way too powerful...

I've got a simple Modi connected to a Headstage Arrow 3G..

I use capless diymod to UHA-6S.MK2, and the D2K sounds awesome for pop. D2K can be easily driven.

Yeah, I agree, they're collection worthy. I wouldn't want to call myself a Denon fanboy, but I too have quite a few of their headphones. ;)

Oh, not gonna sell anything. The reason I asked was because someone was wondering whether to buy or not to buy the D2000 now, and my answer was something along the lines of "If you're willing to pay a little extra for them, then go ahead, they're very good" (short version of my answer). Then it hit me, do they really have a collectors value already and is their second hand price really more than their street prices were before the discontinuation!? Seeing as people could get the D2000 for around $200 the answer is rather clear, and the following thought is that I have a valuable piece of headphone here.

Not selling though. Unless their value is..... $1000000 !

I'm thinking selling mine if anyone interested but the shipping to US will add up the cost.

in all honesty I don't mind the D2k mids, yea it's not my w1000x or my HE 4, but when I'm on the go for EDM D2k is the winner

Mids r good too, nice enough for rock, though I use a Hfiiman HM801 and ba;anced Pb2 [lme 49990 op amps] so I get that thick PCM Mid and Bass, with the balanced amp to brighten the treble and keep everything In check, still though the Denon are my dub step cans,

Also PICS [I had to bribe some one but pics non the less!] Also as far as price goes my D2k, with Martin Wood Cups, and Mark L Driver DAmpen and Lawton pads + btg Balanced Midnight cable ran me in total about $750. It's worth it imo. I'm getting my HE 4 and W1000x fitted with a modular ba;anced cable by Brian this week, I've not heard from him but I sent him the Money for the innvoice so He'll get back to me soon, he's got my money after all

BUT I'm finally the owner of 3 wood housed headphones, and I think I'm done with u[grades! My next step will be the HE 560, LCD x and or LCD Xc. SO seeing as each of those are around $1000 or more, I think I''ll enjoy my headphones for a year or two till i Upgrade

Non the less PICS

Warning: Adorable Inside (Click to show)

I bribed my neece int wearing my d2ks long enough for me to get a pic! Then we played SNES for an hour lol

Also gonna add my two cents - Martin does super sexy work. Check out these gorgeous exhibition grade Cocobolo Rosewood Cups that he machined me for my D2000s..
