My D5000s just arrived :) and wow these are really good looking headphones; so refined. I made a really quick comparison with the D600s and the first thing I notice is comfort; the D600s are way more comfortable than the D5000, they isolate better as well, the fit on the D5000 is looser. In terms of sound the D600 is a bassier headphone, even more fun to listen IMO, but the mids and highs of the 5000s are a bit more clear. I think I'm going to keep both, I'm in love with the looks of the D5000 <3

were the D5Ks used? I'm assuming they were, maybe that would have something to do with the looser fit?

Yes used but the headband does not seem to be stretched or something, clamping force is fine. With the D600 you can move the cups in any direction to adjust the fit / clamping force, maybe that's why I feel that the D5000 fits a bit looser, and I think they are lighter than the D600 too.

Is there anything comparable to the D2000 in sound but has better isolation? I live in a noisy environment.

D600 probably the closest to that description.

Swap a pair of Alpha pads on that beauty and solve both the comfort and clamp issues at once.

Martin ships 2 day Priority so you may have them by this weekend. Keep us posted, can't wait to hear your impressions.

Thanks. Are the Alpha pads better than Lawton angle pads?

You could do the lawton mod on the D2K which involves putting dynamat sound deadener inside the cups.

I have both and for comfort nothing tops the Alpha pads.

On my D7000 I've gone back and forth a couple of times and am currently on the Lawton angle pads. Really it's a toss up. I was recommending Alpha to make the clamp tighter for you, as they are thicker than the Lawton pads.

Sigh, well, tbh, i have no idea where to buy a D2K right now (at a decent price). I just lost to some stupid ebay sniper who outbid me with like 2 seconds left on a used pair. :( Any ideas as to where else I can get one?

Thanks.
