Just got the Alpha pads for my recently recabled D2K. It took some effort to put these pads on. Very comfortable pads made of genuine  lamb leather, and they seem making me less sweaty than the stock pads.

How do they affect the sound in your opinion?

It seems the bass is more tightened with slight reduction in sub bass and sound stage.

I don't know what mods DMinor has done to his pair though, I just have my cups and the backs of the drivers dampened, with the stock fiber stuff.

I only did the recabling myself no mod to the cups. No major sound change tho between the stock pads and the alpha's.

The alpha's are thicker than the stocks, so the difference could be the distance to your ears from the cups.

Hi guys !

yes I will go on to post on this thread, but my D2000 are not yet modded in anyway : just got them few weeks ago... slightly used - with box - and in mint condition.

what I got few days ago was a brand NEW pair of Beyerdynamic gel earpads for 40 euros (50 dollars about  I think) - which Oregonian said not like it so much, but wanted to test it myself - and I will follow Coq de combat advice to post you the photo of it next days but NOT for my D2000 which are "normal" ones ! Hé Hé

I also ordered this last saturday a pair of MrSpeakers Alpha pads after reading the entire thread and following Oregonian advices this way

maybe I will order a pair of Lawton later to test by myself also... and btw... I join previous people about his behaviour, for I just asked him how much shipping to France and IMMEDIATELY received an invoice for it from him !!!

:eek::cool::confused:

so... see you later guys !

:D

nice to read you all !

The alpha pads are very good, and it may have changed my opinion on using cans for comfy issue. I used to sweat quite easily with the stock pads, not anymore with these lamb leather pads. For music genres with bass emphasis, the D2K really sounds excellent.

Thank U : it reinforce me in my order !

Is it just me, or do the alpha pads look weird on the denons (square peg, round hole)? In person, do they look bad?

not that it really matters, but still...

I don't find/feel the alpha pads looks weird on the D2K. Look very good.
