closet head-fiers? - Page 2

Heh, all my other friends here who are missionaries think I am a crackpot 100% through and through. If I sold off all this stuff I could have a rather nice car, but who needs all that hassle when taxis and buses are so cheap and readily available.

I don't have any friends, so even if I was in the closet, I would have no-one to whom to come out.

Well, that's not true, I have some friends, here, I just mean, you know, IRL.

Get yourself a portable setup and go out and meet some friends.

Why go out and waste time meeting new people when you can have cyberfriends. They're just as good as real friends and they always do whatever you want.

Join the trend, man. Life is out. Cyber is in.

I recommend you just turn up the volume and ignore them.

My family and friends know I am heavily into music (music is essentially the only items I place on birthday or christmas lists) and they all know I have this crazy looking cd player. My close friends know about my headphones and know they sound really good. I don't hide it from people, if they want to know, I'll tell them. I don't wear a shirt expounding my joy of the phones, but when I wear grados in public, I do get stares.

I have recently become a closet head-fier because of a bad experience. About 3 weeks ago, I could no longer keep the awesomeness of my musical obsession silent, so I went and told a few people about how incredible my sound system is. Of course they asked the usual questions, and then after a few days everything was back to normal. Or so I hoped it would be. It was really starting to bug me that every single day I walked into my programming class (basically the only people I told), everyone would start rambling on about the price, headphone amp, etc., and eventually made plenty of ongoing jokes about my obsession. Even weeks later, everyone would find amusement in the same comments from the same people every single day. This traumatizing exerience has made me very paranoid and made me not want to ever talk about music again.

Closet head-fiers, stay in the closet!
Guess what happened to me last year? My situation was exactly the same. Programming class, getting made fun of about headphone amps, your "$300 headphones," etc. I'm more cautious now.

In a class like that I'd probably just point out the fact that if you're still being a bully in college, then you must have "small penis" issues. In other words, they shouldn't dish it out if they can't take it.

I wouldn't want to resort to physical violence. That would just be silly, but if they give me some crap, they better be prepared to receive.

And failing that, just get some etys and walk happily into class, lost in the music.

it's not a secret, but no a huge fan as I used to be. All my gear is out in the open, so anyone who walks in can see it. But since getting my personal Holy Grail of the HD600 with all the musical Fidelity Headphone stuff you can get, I kinda cool off and took up photography instead.

Are those things hung in numerical order or something? You ARE team grado there my man. I guess if you like some cans and can afford it, this is the way to go to stay in stock of them forever, huh?
