PC Gaming, what do you play? - Page 6

I seem to like CRTs more than LCDs, though I've only ever used the really cheap ones. It's one of the reasons why I don't want a laptop as main computer.

Top-notch LCD's aren't bad at all. The old LCD that I had looked like there was a grey filter over the screen all the time.

This new one looks so much sharper, it blew me away the first time I played Crysis on it. Those people who need more HDR in Crysis should just buy a better monitor, that way any game looks many times better.

I still like CRT's though, just because of how adjustable they were.

If I had the money, I'd probably get a super-high end LCD. But I'm a cheapass, so it's $200 CRTs for me!

Kuwhat!

$200 CRT!

My monitor that I was talking about happen to be around that price.

Here ya go:
Newegg.com - ViewSonic X Series VX1940w Black&Silver 19" 2ms(GTG) Super High Resolution 1680x1050 DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 static (typ), 3000:1 dynamic (typ) - LCD Monitors

It's more that enough for me, and its small enough that my speaker aren't blocked by the screen on my desk.

That's pretty cool, these lcd need to support better resolution. I'm kinda unhappy that my 22" can't go 1920x1200.

day of defeat / source has been my favorite game for a couple of years.

I was never really into PC gaming, but I do play WoW now. I decided to give it a try with the free 10 ten day trial and when it over I am upgrading my account for $20 and getting another 30 days free. It's a really fun game. Not sure if it's what you like or not.

I'm all about CRT, 21" Trinitrons in particular. I need high refresh rates and resolution versatility. Probably gonna skip LCD completely and wait for OLED.

I started watching Battlestar Galactica from the beginning and got in a "space-y" mood so I started playing Mass Effect and Sins of a Solar Empire.

The Orange Box is great. Portal is amazing.

I really REALLY love S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it's a fantastic game, mixing in RPG elements with FPS and it's great that it's not a "shoot-em-up" sort where you can pop out of hiding and take out 10 people. If you pop out at the wrong place, you get taken out by one enemy easily!

Assassin's Creed is pretty fun for now, but it's a little too easy.
Heh, agreed on all games. I got back into CS:S recently for online play, along with TF2 a bit.

Just started playing STALKER again (never got very far before), just finished Lab X18, and omgwtf, I've never been so scared because of a video game. That damn lighting, having headphones on... it being all dark... things jumping out and screaming at you... Very well done, especially for not being scripted like other scary games, kinda like FEAR. Very impressed with STALKER, and looking forward to Clear Sky coming out soon.

Also... I finished Assassin's Creed a week or two ago before I started up STALKER Good game also, but yeah... easy.
