Just saw an old supermini in the for sale section. is that good?

How do these compare to the Go-Vibe Petite. I was thinking about getting this aswell, but I like the fact that I can use the petite as a DAC for my laptop as I carry it around. Would it be wise to go directly for the Petite and use it for everything? Save me buying a sound card for my other PC too. Just questioning the SQ.

I guess the thing would be, do you really need DAC

I bought my first amp mainly because it had DAC, but now that I've owned it for a while I find that I hardly ever use it.

No. I don't, but it would be very beneficial. (; I just want to know how the Petite compares to the Supermini and other portable amps around this price.

I deleted as what I had to say needs more foundation.

Hmm, so which op-amp does the older supermini for sale run?
post #24 of 44
So the Supermini3 is better than the Petite in terms of SQ?
post #25 of 44
Anybody want to enlighten me? (;

Bump? Really want to know. I might just get a Supermini3 if it's better than a Petite..

There aren't that many Super Mini's out there. For almost a year, about 2 year ago or so, only a few sold. It is an excellent amp but has never gotten total appreciation and now with no new ones coming out, well there is the problem if a comparison is to be made. If Xin ever produces them and makes them like the Reference they would be one of the best and smallest amps on the market.

In another thread I said they were "rare as hen's teeth"
post #29 of 44
Hmm. If they're that rare, I think I'm going to have to bow down to Uncle Wilson for a petite. I think it's best this way anyway, the laptop is being used a lot lately.

Rare doesn't necessarily equal good, but I think in this case it does.

Can't wait to get it (Should be able to get it soon)!
