Grado reads Head-Fi?

In mid-2007, many people suggested a mod to the iGrados that involved taking out foam pads from behind the grill.

Well, I open up my spanking new iGrados and... no foam pads. I didn't even think to just look through the metal grill, and clearly you can see the back of the drivers and no foam pad, so I didn't have to open them up to find out. I am also confident that these were never previously used and modded so that leaves only one option.. Grado adopted a Head-Fi mod

There are always the possibility that they come up with the solution themselves, without reading Head-Fi.
But who knows...

I'm sure all headphone companies read head-fi, I think stuff written on here can definitely give a company competitive edge.

Man, I would love to work at one of those companies and have a job that only requires me to read head-fi all day haha.

This mod is very good for manufacturers. It requires taking something OUT. Can't wait to see some head-fi mod that requires manufacturers to ADD something. It'll be a long wait...

As much as I love this, I'd still prefer to be a Top Gear presenter or have Macks job on future weapons.

Could you avoid perusing a site that gossiped about you every day? I picture John Grado snickering over our speculations whether he uses only one driver because he knows he soaks his RS series drivers in vodka for a week and the GS1000 for 2 to get them ready to ride.

Vodka!?!? I could have sworn it was gin for the 325i drivers, Samuel Adams for the RS1/2s, and 100-year-old red wine for the GS1000s. Everyone knows that as vodka was invented by the Russians, it will increase speed at the expense of soundstage. K701's varimotion drivers would benefit from a good vodka soaking, but Grados, no way.

No foam? So now they're on a third version? I was actually a little suspicious of Grado reading that post because shortly after that mod, Grado glued the !@#$ drivers so you couldn't do the mod. Now, it looks like they're doing the mod for you????
