Cable length on 5vi's

Can someone confirm that the length of the cable on the right earpiece of the super.fi 5vi's is a little longer than that on the left earpiece? Silly question I know, but I just want to make sure it's meant to be like that. Thanks!

Haven't posted in a while, but I thought I would step in after reading about one of my now primary earphones. All my phones have are burned-in just FYI.

I am using foamies with the SF 5 v2 and the bass has improved quite a bit. Compared to the Sleeks or the SF 5 Pros, I still prefer the SF 5 v2's sound. The soundstage is larger and I feel the detail and the speed of the SF 5's just make it better for me than the Sleeks. I like them so much that I got two pairs, one for me and another for my wife. She liked the sound so much that she finally parted with her ER4P's which she previously would not give up for anything. I like the balance of these phones and even A/Bing them with various phones these still end up being my commute phones of choice.

I still love mine and feel that outside of the IE8, and maybe even those, there isn't anything out that is enough of an improvement for me yet to need to upgrade. Maybe the SA9 when it comes out, possibly the CK100 when more well known and available for a reasonable price, and maybe the next UE dual driver or Jays product(Peter said something is coming in spring and the only thing they don't have is a triple driver phone).

I only tried the Comply foams but find they veil them as do the stock silicone tips. I use ebay clear dual flange tips and they improve the phones clarity separation and speed/crispness. Less bass but better bass and detail overall IME. Quite close to the Phonaks which do share characteristics due to both using top-fire armatures and the better tips bringing more clarity and detail to the 5's which are a bit smoothed over even a bit dull with the stock tips. I also get more improvement with my S-adapter unamped since the Phonaks are a harder to drive. Of course there is the soundstage that competes with everything out there and the comfort/great cable/ease of taking in/out(only bested IME by the UM2; I like the UE cable better actually). The mids are among the best out there also.

They are down to $130 now and are a nice value and for an extra $25 for tips and a little impedance they are near the top of the heap for those who like a more neutral sig. I had my 5 for the longest now. I only kept the ER4S for 5-6 months only kept the Triple.fi for <1 month. I find that paired up with the right tips/75 Ohm adapter and a Nuforce Icon mobile they are giving me really high end/headphone like bass, wonderful mids and the amp gives them the added treble extension the 5's lack. I'm sure that some would do better to work with a warmer amp, I am happy with a nice balance. To me, I got the right amount of punch and impact etc. in the end. If I started with more bass like an Atrio/UM2 or 3/Monster etc. the end result would be a bit too much color for me.

I have the sf5 pro and sleek customs, the sleeks kill the sf5 pro imo, the ue sounds muddy, lots of bass but not as tight or as much thump, and the sleeks have much better mids and treble, a very balanced sound i would say is what i was after.

I have all three and although I like their different sound sigs, I end up listening to the SF 5 v2's more. FYI, I use the T400 complys with them and think they are a nice step up from the included ear tips that UE includes and I completely agree with jant71 on that point.

I still think that at the ~$130 price point this is one of the better balanced phones currently out in the market.

Just got these. Initial impressions:

There are some crazy microphonics going on here. I haven't been able to run in them yet, and I hope it doesn't turn into an issue. Sound wise, I am impressed, it is a clean and neutral response, just a little rolled off on the top. There are no peaks, no muddiness. Good instrument separation and great soundstage. Great build quality. Happy so far.

You can still wear these over the ears right? (although these clearly look like they're meant to be worn down) That usually reduces microphonics.

Yes, they work fine both ways. It does make a difference, but it is still definitely audible.

Just bought the SF5V2 and the shure small foam tips seals the fit for me - very comfortable and light on the ears.
It matches well with the E5. E3 ruins the midbass.

Could anybody tell, how these new Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 "v.2" sound comparing to Head-Direct RE0 and Phonak Audeo PFE?
Can you hear a hiss noise on low sound or mute of audio source (player/computer/amp)?
