How nice would that be? Especially if we could at least have one user defined setting.

ALL WE NEED IS A CUSTOM EQ!!! Presets suck, a TOTAL waste of time. The Zune has the ability to be tops across the board. 1 added feature (that dang EQ) and it's the numereo uno player!!!

that's what I meant by user defined setting and I agree 100%

Custom EQ would be all it needs. Agree, no presets.

Even if it were like on the nw-hd5 where you can kinda raise or lower bass/treble on a faux-eq (if you werent using ATRAC) would be cool.

True!!! That would make it my ONLY CHOICE!!! No D2, Sony, iPod, Etc!!!

Yeah seriously, but i'm ok with it for now. Maybe new firmware will bring an eq...if a new zune has an eq with all the same old functions, all i can say is ->OH BABY.

If a new zune pops up then it'll KILL me getting a Touch in Oct. "IF" it has an EQ. If not then MS can KMFA!!!

You don't have to worry, if there is a new Zune coming out it won't be for a while and likely won't have an EQ

im doing a battery life test on mine.

started 11pm last night, volume at 14, on shuffle with what is 90% 192vbr with no max or min bitrate limit mp3's.

so far the player has been going for 17 hours and 15 minutes. battery bar still has a notch left in it.

screen has been used minimally, probably only turned the screen on about 10 times so far so this is primarily a straight up music playing test, not real world usage.

im pretty psyched. i think the zune is rated at 20 hours audio which is a weak point of it. i figured they got this using 128kbs mp3 with a volume of 10 but maybe not?

using the extra processing power to play my 192vbr at a volume of 14 i have hit and am still going at 19 hours with one notch left on the battery bar.

well what i thought was one notch on the battery bar was really two. now im down to the last notch at 20.45 hours of audio playtime.

im guessing another 30 minutes left in this thing.

ok. i hope this info is useful.

at 21 hours and 40 minutes the player has had the red battery symbol warning and playing itself out for the last 15 minutes. so not too shabby IMO.

Edit: lasted for just shy of 23 hours total.
