Watched "The Happening" on my Z120 last night, very enjoyable. The screen is better on the new 120, though the battery life is still so-so. I had half a charge left after a 1:30hr movie. Still, I like this better than most, as I've figured out how to import my playlists created in iTunes, and the SQ is really sweet. Great bass, clear mids, singing highs (and not overly bright). Enjoying this overall.

I'm the proud owner of a "Limited Edition" (LOL) 1st gen RED 30GB Zune, recently upgraded with an 80GB drive. Now I'm thinking of installing a 160GB drive instead.

By the way, is there really a point to a thread like this?

Doesn't really have to be, does there? It's just so the Zunsters can all get together I guess. Nonetheless, gotta' love it just the same.

PS: are you the same guy posting w/The DarkSide on ABI? If so, it's me. Whats up buddy!!!!

PPS: I ended up getting the iClear case for my Zune 120 from Target for $20.00. Great case & fits like a crystal-clear glove!

No, there doesn't really need to be a reason, LOL. I just amaze myself with all the (probably) boring things I often post in all these different forums. But I do enjoy it. With both kids grown and off at college, I have far too much idle time on my hands (sigh).

Nice avatar, by the way. Has a certain warmth to it, LOL.

Yes, it's me from ABI. I'm all over like horsesh*t. Are you following me, you sneaky devil?

Nothing new here, other than the fact that my son's 7 week old laptop got stepped on by his roomie, cracking the screen. Gotta love kids. Thank God for extended accidental damage warranties!!

By the way (forgot to mention it in ABI), very cool mod to your iPood mini! Don't know if I'd be that daring. But of course, it is afterall, only an iPod...

I'm still dreaming about a 160GB drive for my Zune. I was also considering a Sansa Fuze, just for fun. I see you have one. How do you like it? I hear they sound as good as the Sansa Clip. Although my Sansa e260v2 supposedly does also (I'm no expert).

I like the new case for your Zune 120! I've often wondered how well those clear hardcases fit. Because any minute play (sliding around) of the player in the case would eventually make wear marks on the player's finish (wouldn't it?).

What's new with you, my friend?

Just smoozing the forum, as usual. As for the mini, I actually love the SQ on that damn thing!!!! Just don't tell those guys on ABI (I got in enough trouble w/my Touch 2G excursion!!!).
Sorry to hear about the laptop BTW, I'd not try to fix that 1 w/a 10 foot cat5 cable!!! Even tho I do repairs to laptops and PC's also. Jackazz of all trades, blah, blah. If my 20yo son's roomie did that tho,........ I may have to kill em' (JK).
Now, if you like the SQ on the Zune you MAY like the Fuze. I'm personally not too fond of it OR my clip. Can't really say why, just leaves me dissatisfied I guess. I found the clip, and my son traded a E280 for the Fuze 4gb w/me. He wanted the larger capacity player, I liked the SQ of the E280 V1 better, and that's without rockbox. Afterall, I only used it for jogging. As for the clip, fuze, and E260 V2 having the same SQ, that I'm not too sure about.
As for modding the Zune 1G w/a bigger HDD, I'd wait for now. I learned that once you do a mod on a player it starts to become an obsession. TBH that's why I sold the Zune 30 I had. It would have cost more for parts to mod it than I paid for it. It would have run like a Ferrari, but it would have cost me.
Well, check you later bro, & check your PM.

This place should come with a Surgeon General's Warning!

I was happy with my Clip. It was simple, easy. I was happy. Then, I get a promotion at work which means I'll be traveling more. It's still all good. I just need a higher capacity player so I can take everything with me. I do my research and go with a Zune. Only, the UEs that worked so well with my Clip just don't have the same punch when paired with the Zune. So, I'm searching around, looking for a good pair of headphones, when I come across this den of evil!!!

I join up and start floating around, looking at the reviews, when I decide to buy a pair of CX300s on the cheap ($25) just to hold me over until I can find something. Only, the unthinkable happens. Sansa's latest firmware update offers up a FLAC player for under a c-note. Now, the Zune is a great little device but let's face it . . . I'm legally obligated to listen to a mono Abbey Road in lossless. I'm fairly certain that's in the Constitution somewhere.

So, I now have a Zune, a Fuze, a new pair of CX300s to go along with my Super.fi 3 and I still haven't found a good pair of IEMs to go along with my Zune.

It's only going to get worse, isn't it?

I have SE530 and I can say that they pair pretty well with the Zune. The Zune is not a powerful player but deliver great SQ from the phones jack (no need for a LOD with an amp like the iPod) and SE530 are easily driven so they just go along together. The only thing, the Zune being a HDD player, you'll ear drive noise at the begining and end of tracks(The reason I'm building a CMoy amp).

It is indeed, I'm planning on getting a 120 Gb zune soon enough.

There's generally a lot of talk about the Zune 80 and 120, and I was wondering if the flash Zunes were pretty much the same thing, but with smaller capacity, or if they had different sound quality.

Also wondering...

Has anyone bought this or any other color? It looks pretty nice, but how thick is it and does the stand thing come out a lot or does is it just sort of there (because I don't want it. It'd be best if it was removable)

The 30 is the only Zune w/a different sound to it. All the rest sound the same, GOOD.

Great I think I'm gonna be looking for one of those rather than a Cowon D2 (no touch screen/sexier interface) or a Sony (cheaper).

Remember, each has a pro and a con. Both are great in their own right.

I have this one:
Cases and Accessories - ECO|case Canvas Wallet Case for Zune 80GB 120GB by Incipio
and it suits me really well. I think that Incipio does quality products and the prices are fair.

I know, the Sony is just slightly out of my price range and I'm not a fan of touch screens.
