Ok so i have a huge predicament (well to me it's huge haha). I can get a 30 gig iaudio x5 for $175, a 60gig version for $250, or a zune 80 gig for $210 (roughly). My question: Is the extra 50 gigs worth the price for the zune? I want enough storage, but I know the x5 has GREAT sq, and the zune's sq can't match it. However, I could also get the 60 gig version of the x5 to compensate for the space, but does that version have any flaws compared to the 30 gig or is it exactly the same only with a bigger hd? Help!

I know people bash on Bose because of they're over priced and I agree. I believe these retail for about $150 or so and I paid $85 for these due to employee discount at where I work. With that...

If you enjoy watching movies on the go, the Zune is a really good choice. It has a nice big screen.
It also has an interface and controls that are a lot better than the x5 of any size. The x5's UI is really really clunky (but it can be easily Rockboxed).

I'd be willing to rockbox, and i don't really care about movies. Anymore thoughts? As of now i'm leaning towards one of the x5's.

X5 is no longer manufactured and support from Cowon has been spotty, particularly in Europe and the Middle East. While the X5 is a very good player, I would seriously consider the Zune if I were to replace my X5L today.

Hmm...i'm in the US and x5 no longer being manufactured doesn't mean they can't service their product if there are defects. Or does it?

Have you actually compared the sound quality between the x5 and Zune yourself?

I have not A-B'd them side by side, but I didn't make any comments on SQ either, only on interface and screen.

my sister had a 20 gig x5 and it sounded better than my sony nw-hd5 which until then had been the best sounding DAP i've listened to. Haven't heard a zune though, just basing it on what i've read from others.

You ALWAYS have to take everything with a grain of salt. Always try the gear yourself so go purchase a Zune from Best Buy and refund it if you don't like it.
