Actually, you could have killed 3 birds. Purchase of a pair of the concert tickets included Knopfler's latest CD, Kill To Get Crimson, at no extra charge. (Of course, they charge you enough for the tickets already.)

No, but they don't isolate well either.

A good technique for sneaking past the wife is to have packages shipped to your work address. That way, she'll never come home and find a box from Headphones 'R' Us sitting on the doorstep.
