DH Labs SILVER SONIC BL-1

Looking to upgrade ICs. Have read good things about the DH Labs BL-1 RCAs. Right now I'm using Blue Jeans Cable RCAs. Will be used from tube headamp to DAC. BJC's cables are great, but I was told the Silver Sonic goes great with tubes...Worth It? Anything comparable in this price range or other suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Jes

As a fellow south floridian I have a pair that you could listen to if you go to the Orlando Mini Meet on 8/16. I will be taking it with a pair for BJC so you could do a side by side.

I do not want to tell you my opinion so as not to bias you and kind of entice you to go to the meet.

Thanks mr.a

I have been trying to go to a meet for almost two years. When you average 60-70 hours a work week (including weekends), it's pretty hard.

Looking ahead, 08-16 in Orlando looks difficult.....

I'm scheduled for some time off in Oct., before then it's tough....

Don't keep me waiting till then....

Thanks again

bl-1 are very good starter cables. in its price range, kimber hero is another good one which i use myself. however in my exp, cables hardly make any difference even at the high end of things. i've heard a few $500+ ones that altered the sound but didnt necessarily improve the system. as long as what you have doesn't hurt your system, just a cheap aftermarket wire should be fine. i use some reasonable cables, but i'd be content with vintage audioquest jade wires that go for around $25 a pair...

I'd recommend looking into Audio Art Cables. They are always advertised on audiogon and they are the most revealing budget cable I've heard. You can try my pair if you can make it down to Pinecrest

Jes, I like both the BJC and the BL-1 cables. Believe it or not to me the best advantage of the Sonic BL-1 is its flexibility, yes it has a bit more extension but you have to listen for it. IMO save yourself some money and go for the BJC instead.

Note: Moon Audio terminates the BL-1 cable and sometimes you can find a new 3 foot pair for about $75 plus S&H in Audiogon. At that price it would be worth it to buy a pair and try them. See: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls....ntr&1220617358

Thanks for the replies. Looked into the Kimber and Audio Art, however, they were a bit more $$$, so I will wait on those a little while.
Moon had the 3ft. BL-1 on ebay for 65.00 so I went ahead and bought a pair to see how it goes.

Thanks again
Jesse
