[RE1's + Fiio amp] + [RE1 vs. Atrio M5/M8]

Ok, after much much much researching, I've decided on these two to upgrade to.
The Head-Direct RE1, which I plan to use with a Fiio amp or the Atrio M5/M8 (which I might as well use with a Fiio since it's so dirt cheap).
So, any good comparisons of the RE1 vs. the M5/M8?
Will the Fiio amp be good enough to 'unlock' the potential of the RE1's to do them justice?
Any experiences people have had with a RE1/Fiio amp combo?

Thanks

hi i just bought the fiio and the RE1, not to try together, but i just gave it a shot since i saw your question.

the Re1's are pretty damn good unamped for the money, and for the small amount it costs for a fiio, you cant really lose that much. the Fiio adds some bass and gives it a nice smooth and warm sound signature, quite nice actually, sure it does sound better through more expensive amps, but for the money you cant really go wrong.
i suspect many people on head-fi are going to tell you it sounds a lot better with better amps etc. but of course that costs more money.

i've only tried the atrio's for about 2 hours, they were a friends, and i like the RE1's by far, atrio's are just a bit bassy for my liking, sounds great with certain songs, but i not really an all rounder type of iem.

hope that helps.

So how much of an improvement was it form the stock RE2?
How is it with the PA2V2?

do you mean stock Re1?
but amping on the Re1 is like a drug, you dont know you NEED it till you hear it.

hard to compare with the pa2v2 - it has volume control for 1, and it costs several times more than the fiio, also its many times larger.
but overall the pa2v2 is considered to boost bass, but its a whole lot better across the sound spectrum compared to the fiio. Just u will notice that you are carrying it around, unlike the fiio :P

both are great affordable choices cant go wrong with 1/both of these.
