Trying to decide between Predator and Pico, Am I write in assuming the Pico is better as per some threads Ive read?

Or any other?

Have heard both and posted in other threads about this recently.

Both very good but Predator is my choice (after 1200+ hours burn in, of course ).

I don't know which is better, but after trying out both at a local audio shop (Jaben in Singapore), i'd say my preference is for the Predator. Sound is a lot more exciting and sweeter.

I have not heard anyone here mention this but to me, pico sounds coloured, to the extent they sound a bit unnatural.

Predator will be my choice

To me, most of my headphones sound better with the Predator than with the Pico (HD600, Grado RS-1 and HF-1, Edition 9, AKG240M, Yamaha HP-1, Proline 2500, Livewires, Denon C700, etc). A few sound better with the Pico like the Denon D2000 and Freq Show. None sound bad with the Predator, but the Ultrasone Proline 2500 sound cold and distant with the Pico. Still, it is maybe only 5 or 10 percentage points that separate the Pico from the Predator, and the Pico can throw a wider more expansive soundstage.

I've heard the Predator finally settles down after about fifteen years of use. I've never noticed any aberrations in the sound of my Pico.

The Predator does get better, but I found it better out of the box than my Pico. So kept the Predator and sold the Pico.. no regrets best portable amp I have owned to date.

Just bought a Predator from Ray. Shipping to europe has gone up he advised from website published rate plus have to pay 4.2 ish percent paypal fees so came to $548

lot of money so hope its worth it

See you have the 325's. mines going to paired with my main home set which is the grado 225s I bought last weekend along with the q-jays I got the week before for work/commute (will also try with my px100s which were my pre-grado phones and going to be given to my younger brother to go with his ipod.)

I'm feeling better. Felt strange to spend that much on something the size of a box of cigarettes lol But considering will use it for many years will work out fine I'm sure.

Plus you Americans need the money- what with the Chinese, Indians & russia challenging your no 1 superpower status
