I agree with you, most of today's rap scene music is just out-of-control bass. But that wasn't my point, my point was that I MADE A GUESS THAT THE BEATS headphones are going to be most bass-driven and lacking in highs.

As a matter of fact, I am really curious about this headphone. I work for a company here in California that has a shared partnership with Monster, I'm going to ask them if I can try it before the release.

Remember though, looks don't correlate to SQ e.g Skullcandy and or the flipside, the Head-Direct REx IEM's.

But hey, I don't hold much promise to these.

I think Dr. Dre has produced some fine tracks in the past; some of the most enjoyable hip-hop music I've heard. He has an ear for detail. Maybe these headphones won't be bad at all?

perhaps they're decent/good sounding, you still have to remember these are made by monster. so if they live up to their reputation of overpriced/marked-up products, they won't be a good bargain/value.

You must remember the demographic that this is probably going to be aimed at: Middle class white non-audiophiles.

But hey, it's all speculation atm.

Hey guys,

I've had pre-production Beats for a while now, and I have also had a couple of actual production units around for about two weeks. In a nutshell, I have paid more in the past for headphones that don't sound as good. The weight is good, the band is strong, the audio cables specifically fit into gen 1 iPhone ports, and one of the cables lets you take phone calls using the beats themselves, with a built in mic. In my opinion, they are worth the asking price - rare for Monster.

Oh, by the way, since this is my first post here, you might all be wondering who the heck I am or why youd trust my opinion I'm Andru Edwards, and I run Gear Live. For those interested, we just put up a large Beats by Dre unboxing gallery.

i love dr dre's music but i have a feeling these headphones are overhyped. Don't get me wrong they might b good but i don't think they'll compare to a good set of senheisers and an amplifier. I was actually excited when i first heard about these headphones months ago but thats before i had an iMOD hooked up to my pico amp
